ABOUT
Inspired to pay homage to Amoskeag Manufacturing Company's legacy, AMOSKEAG XX offers an uncompromising collection of overalls that reflect its unyielding commitment to quality. This commitment is evident in the design and details of our products, the indigo-dying process, thread variation, trims and stitching, elements that made the AMOSKEAG XX brand unique, and the quality of our products unparalleled.
When we designed AMOSKEAG XX overalls, we carefully examined denim that had been produced at the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company mill so that we could preserve its manufacturing heritage. The AMOSKEAG XX overall is consequently designed by us in the true spirit of the original riveted blue jean – it is not designed for fashion, but as work wear that is second to none in its quality and durability. And because AMOSKEAG XX overalls were manufactured based on historical standards, they will shrink naturally over time to give you an individual fit.
HISTORY
The legendary denim brand Amoskeag Manufacturing Company was founded in Manchester, New Hampshire in the 18th century, and it was made famous by the sturdy denim used to manufacture riveted blue jeans. Located near the Merrimack River, Amoskeag was also the first textile mill in the United States to harness the raw energy of the river to power its looms.
Through innovative engineering and unity of design, Amoskeag grew throughout the 19th century into the largest textile producer in the world, and its reputation for quality products was unparalleled. Then, in the midst of the great depression of the early 20th century, the factory faded and eventually closed.
Even though the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company has not manufactured textile products in more than half a century, we want to continue the traditions of this legendary brand in AMOSKEAG XX overalls.
